Sectors are the entry point of contact between Members and OWIT. Currently, there are 10 sector committees which mirror the member representation. Sector Committees are in charge of driving sectoral advocacy agenda of OWIT as documented in the OWIT Nairobi Strategy (ONS) 2017-2020 The ONS focuses on strategic and cross cutting issues affecting trade in the country.
Clara Kathurima is the Sector Champion for Energy. She is an accomplished entrepreneur,strategic planner and Energy professional with exemplary capabilities. She has 9 years experience in the energy field and understands thoroughly well the basics,working principles of rural electrification projects.
Evelyn Kasina, is the IT Sector Champion and the Lead ICT Consultant and CEO of Eveminet Communication Solutions Limited, a consultancy firm that strives to ensure that Technologies integrate with businesses. Their unique strength to our clients is to provide Cyber Security for all their products and services.
Fashion & Apparel Sector
Evelyn Olang is the Fashion &Apparel Sector Champion and the FOunding CEO of Alata Styles. She is all the proprietor of Turquoise Signature Scents a supplier of Bath and Body products in Kenya. A scientist by trainng she branched off to pursue her passion in fashion and is always striving to empower women in this sector to scale greater heights.
Imports & Exports Sector
In line with OWIT’S mandate, this sector will cover almost every woman in the organization. We will strive to ensure every woman has access to timely and correct information, opportunities and network/contacts in relation to imports and export of either raw material, machinery & implements or finished goods.
